Six months and 14 million breast/bottle feeds later, and you can finally enter the world of food!
I was really looking forward to weaning, and actually really enjoyed it. Probably because Annabelle will eat anything I give her, and then she’ll eat mine! (I know, I’ve got it good at the minute)
Remember that first night in the hospital when the nurse made you wake your baby at 2am to feed it? Well that was probably just diamorphine in their system from the labour. It literally lasts one night.
Your baby will wake up at least twice in the night for the first few months. To be honest, apart from the obvious shock to the system, in hindsight the first few months are probably the easiest; you expect the 4am wake-up calls and sleepless nights.
I obviously watch far too many episodes of Keeping Up with the Kardashians, because I was hoping my experience of motherhood would be just like Kourtney’s: 3 kids, my own ‘glam squad’, regular partying, a personal trainer, super healthy organic food, sexy photo shoots and a quick stop at Kanye’s Fashion Week show. But this is not the case people!
Everything that you considered to be ‘normal life’ before you had children suddenly becomes a bonus. Like writing blogs. I’ve been writing this blog for about 3 weeks. Continue reading
